Eyeonbooks.com

Here is a great site for new books. Luong Ung's new book Lucky Child is fantastic and you can listen to her author interview. My interview should be up in a few days.www.eyeonbooks.com

I too was a user

I too was a user and though it was no big deal, until my house got raided. Even sitting in jail, I thought they were making a big deal out of nothing. I have spent the past few days reading stories from people's experiences and talking with my mom. Your life experience has made me think a lot about what could have happened to me or someone I could have potentially sold to. I too am starting the steps of climbing out of where I have put myself and people close to me. I wanted to thank you for sharing your story with me. It has helped me see more clearly and helped me understand more about what and where drugs could have led me. There is no limit to the amount of support that a person can use and I am starting over, leaving the past and those friendships behind.

Struggling with addiction

Hi Lynn,
I too am an addict and have struggled and lived in the shadows of addiction for years. First it was pot, then it was crack, for 7 years. One day after 6 or 7 times in rehab, enough was enough. My last stay in a hospital, these words finally sunk in, your (age removed) years old, on one of these binges you go on, spending anywhere from 1000 to 2000 bucks in 2 days time, that last big hit is going to be your last one...needless to say that hit home. Not to mention through all of this I am married and have been for (years removed) years this september with a (years removed) year old son. I often times dwell on how my behavior will effect my son. I pray everynight that with the changes I have made in my life that he will come out ok, only time will tell. Its a waiting game I suppose.I like you, also grew up in a family where addiction was present, the difference, my mother drink, and took persrciption drugs...its hard to sometimes not place blame, I try not to anymore, but I use to.Anyway enough about my story, your book was great, I enjoyed reading it very much, a gift from hubby...haha...but oh what a gift.I would like to ask what happened to Mason if you dont mind? I will look forward to your response and I wish you all the best in your life. I hope to see you on the big screen someday kiddoSincerely and my hats off to you (name removed)

Pictures from the book tour

Rolling Away email

I loved the book,It was a story well told...so human and approachable. It read fast andthe reader could really empathsize. You did a nice job of capturingthe party life, and the slide down. And then you moved to the human tale...and the book got even more interesting. I found myself not wanting to put it down, and anxious to start again (really). I'm familiar with your story but I had no idea you were in the hospital for a second time. The crisis moment for that episode read like Grisham...really. The book reached a wonderful crescendo with the prison talk. Just great. I will wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone...everyone.

A comment from my emails page

Wow, I think it is awesome that you stopped using first of all. I believe that we all have the power within to do whatever we put our minds to. In this case my advice to you would be to DIG DEEP. Take whatever strength you have and use it to you're recovery. I work with drug/alcohol youth daily and see the success and know that with help from family, friends or even professionals you can do it. But most of all I would have to say that YOU are going to be your best way in pushing thru this part of your life. Believe me when I say the road is hard, but the road is there for a reason. Much luck and know that you are in my prayers.

Thursday Radio, Friday TV Show (last week)

Looks like I’m going to be on a national ABC talk show Friday morning. It is called ‘Top Priority with Deborah Roberts’ from 8am to 8:30am West Coast time and 11am to 11:30am East Coast time taking part in a ecstasy themed story. Should be interesting. The show is actually shot in New York, but I’ll show up at an affiliate of ABC in Los Angles who will make the live show look seamless. I can’t wait to hear what the other guests have to say. There will be a doctor who works with ecstasy abusers. As far as I hear, he has a lot of patients that are dealing with nasty repercussions of ecstasy abuse. In addition to Friday’s live ABC show, I will be on Sirius Satellite Radio, ‘The John McMullen Show’, at 7:15pm West Cost time and 10:15pm East Cost time Thursday night. Pretty excited about doing more live radio, the last few shows have been a blast. So tune in and don’t be afraid to call in, taking live questions is the best part!

May 9th Post

It has been a long day. Woke in San Francisco, was up at 6am to get ready for a morning news show. Then off to an hour long radio show with call-ins. I dig live radio ... I really do belive I have the face for it! But really, I do love the experience. Singed some books at three different bookstores.
Thanks for all your calls, comments, stories, and support.
